Visited Joseph’s on July 3rd, 2012. Fairly empty when I got there at 4:30 p.m.   I put it down to the holiday and that many people were probably out of town. The place soon began to fill as people finished work at 5:00 and 5:30 p.m.

Good range of beers on tap including the following:  Leinenkugel Honey Weiss • Leinenkugel Summer Shandy • Blue Moon • Summit • Newcastle Brown • Stella Artois • Samuel Adams   and more.

Half price appetizers available until 6:00 p.m.

A great after work watering hole – Happy Hour with half price appetizers until 6:00 p.m.

Cherokee TavernCherokee Tavern  Smith Avenue West St. Paul MN 55118

Stopped by the Cherokee on Friday the 29th, June 2012. Starting at 2:00 p.m. select beers pints are $1.00. At 3:00 p.m. you’ll pay $2.00. At 4.00 p.m. price goes to $3.00, and that’s it. Seems it’s this way every Friday. See for yourself; pace yourself … life is good.

Here’s a list of some of the items they have on draft:

Goose Island 312  •  Hamm’s  •  Tyranena Rocky’s Revenge •  Ommegang Abbey • Tallgrass Buffalo Sweat • Cherokee Amber • Surly Furious •  Schell’s Maifest • Fulton Sweet Child O’Vine • Bell’s Oberon • Summit EPA • Furthermore Fatty Boombalatty • Golden Light • Odell IPA • Bell’s Sparkling Ale • Ace Apple Cider

Happened across a couple of local artists at the bar. Both are part of the Hampden Artists – Group; Lanny Ross known as  the Man of Colours  and Richard Dillon (just known as Dillon).

Mississippi Pub  4455 66th Street East  Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076

Tuesday July 10th, 2012

Stopped in with my wife and son. Very pleasant early evening. Looked for specials on Four Square but found nothing. Tried the Shroom and Swiss Burger, the Sampler Platter and Fried Pickles with Mozarella cheese. Not bad. Waitress was very pleasant.

Nice place to spend a peaceful hour. Plenty of wildlife if you like that sort of thing or you can simply sit and watch the boats on the river.

Sunday April 22nd, 2012

You’ll find the Mississippi Pub in the River Heights Marina (the sign says it’s at the 830 mile marker) on the beautiful and scenic Mississippi River in Inver Grove Heights.

The pub is owned and operated by the Harms family who began their unique style of  river view service in 1999.   There’s a great  two-tier deck and patio and an all glass indoor enclosure with a marvelous clear view of the main channel of the Mississippi River.  Sit peacefully and enjoy one of the daily special meals and enjoy great drinks and cool cocktails. Bring your camera to capture the picturesque sight of the river and wildlife. The Harms family prides itself on good food and good service.

Spend some “lazy-time” here soon. You won’t regret it.

Eddy’s opened its doors on July 11th, 2011. I first remember it when it operated as “Royal Star” a liquidated furniture showroom. That business outgrew the premises and the building was taken over by a variety of small start-ups. One of them was Pirate Pizza. Their sign was up for about a year and when they finally opened, lasted a week or two at most.

Eddy’s is quite popular and has developed a good cachet in the short time it has been operating since July last year. Normal beers are on draft and in bottles. There is a simple menu. Try the sweet potato fries. They’re surprisingly good
